A dance facility like no other in New York. This building reinterprets three elements of dance into architecture: clothe, suspend, and lift.
DANCE MACHINE is clothed by a spidery structure, forming a webbed glass box. Within, the interior is delineated by layers of suspended semi-opaque shrouds wrapping individual practice studios. The performance hall, a tessellated jewel, is lifted and held center stage, peeking through the taut screens at the corner overlooking the prominent street edge.
